Join Joey Evans and the Adaptive Sports Fund in providing extreme sports opportunities for people living with spinal cord injuries.

In 2007 Joey broke his back and crushed his spinal cord leaving him paralysed from the chest down. He was fortunate in that his spinal cord injury would turn out to be incomplete and he went on to not only walk again but race his offroad bike and finish the Dakar Rally. He still lives with complications from his injury but he’s felt the incredible feeling of being able to enjoy extreme sports after once being in a place where he thought it was gone forever. His passion is to help those living with spinal injuries feel the same.

His goal for 2024 is to complete the longest non-stop offroad race in the world, the BAJA 1000 to be held in November.

A 1000 mile offroad race through the remote unforgiving desert of the Baja peninsula in Mexico. A race lasting around 36 hours with almost equal day and night time racing.

Competitors generally compete as a team of several riders where one bike is used and riders swop out along the route each taking a turn to race and to rest. But there is also an Ironman class where you can race the entire distance solo. Last year there was 27 starters and only 9 finishers. Joey will be racing in this class.

Along with some corporate sponsors, Joey will be covering all his own racing costs allowing every cent donated here to go directly to the Adaptive Sports Fund.
